MUSKHANE children's rugs are handmade in our workshops in Kathmandu from sheep's wool. Unique, they are the fruit of the know-how of our local craftsmen, mastering the meticulous art of wool felting.
Sheep's felted wool, or boiled wool, is a material that benefits from all the qualities of the original fibre. In contrast to synthetic carpets, our children's carpets made of wool felt are hypoallergenic and prevent the growth of dust mites. In a child's room, they provide a healthy environment for playing and growing in the best conditions.
A wool felt carpet is a wise choice for a child's bedroom
In a toddler's bedroom, a wool rug provides a soft and warm play area. On the floor, the wool felt protects the toddler's feet from the cold and insulates from noise, allowing the home to remain quiet during the most animated play sessions. Thanks to its thickness and generous softness, it will be comfortable and conducive to rolling around.
Boiled wool is a washable and easy to care for material, two important advantages for a child's bedroom. On a day-to-day basis, you only need to vacuum it regularly. In case of stains, the surface can be cleaned with black soap or Marseille soap and rinsed with warm water. In the event of a spill, it is best to absorb the excess with a paper towel. Child's play!
Once in a while, preferably in the summer, you can shampoo your felt carpet thoroughly. This not only cleans it, but also felts the wool back to its original state. Dry it flat in the shade for a day.

Choosing a carpet for a child's bedroom is not always easy. To help you, determine precisely the role of the future rug in your child's cocoon and the space available to accommodate it. Then think about the aesthetic dimension you want to give to the decoration, and the different interests of your little blonde head.
A round rug in soft colours will bring harmony to your room and reinforce the childlike, cosy feel of the space. On the other hand, a rectangular rug will be more classic, but also more voluminous. It is therefore a good option if you have a large surface to cover. Finally, a coloured rug is an alternative, often forgotten, to delimit two spaces in a shared children's room.
